Shane Monahan- SEB Owner/Hitting Instructor
Shane attended Clemson University where he was selected to the 1993 Freshman All ACC Team and was also selected as a First Team All American. (Still holding freshman records for hits, avg, rbi’s). In 1994, he was the ACC Tournament MVP and again was selected as a First Team All American. Shane set the national hit record in a season with 137 hits in just 55 games. Shane was a member of the 1994 USA National Baseball team and was awarded Team MVP after hitting .355 and stealing 20 bases during international competition.
His Junior Season in 1995 at Clemson, he was honored as the ACC Player of the Year, Southeast Region MVP, College World Series All-Tournament Team, Golden Spikes Award Finalist, and again was selected to his third consecutive All American Team. He also played in the CWS this year making the all-tournament team. Shane finished his college career being the 1st (and only) three-time All-American at Clemson University.
Shane was the 31st overall pick in the 1995 MLB draft and broke through into the Major Leagues with the Seattle Mariners in 1998. He was selected to the 50th Year All ACC Team, Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and the South Carolina Hall of Fame inductee.
In addition to his playing career, Shane is a very accomplished coach and has proven success in building academy programs and the results speak for themselves. He has relationships with college recruiters and coaches, professional scouts and crosscheckers. Shane has proven to build relationships with all his players and develops and pushes them to be better than they ever thought.
